Show Notes

As a kick-off to Pride Month, we are reposting this special episode of Legally Bond. Christopher Riano, Esq. will provide an engaging presentation on the history of marriage equality along with a discussion of current issues of relevance, such as the implications to the LGBTQ community of the Fulton case at the Supreme Court.

The book “Marriage Equality: From Outlaws to In-Laws,” co-authored by William N. Eskridge, Jr. and Mr. Riano, explores the religious, political, administrative, and constitutional features of the debate and considers the different angles of its dramatic history, including its foundations in the Black civil rights movement and the debate within the LGBTQ community about whether marriage rights should be a priority. It offers a thoughtful history of how the nation wrestled with an important question of moral and legal equality.
